报告题目1Lifshitz-Slyozov equations: the asymptotic behavior, the role of the coagulation term and a new extension of the equations

报告摘要The kinetic of grains formation by precipitation from a supersaturated solid solution is historically modeled by the Lishitz-Slyozov equations. This kind of model is commonly used in metallurgy to describe the formation of some alloys. The evolution dynamics can be seen as interaction process between macro-particles, described by a size density function f (t, x) and monomers characterized by their concentration c(t).

Along this course we will discuss about these different points:

• The numerical analysis of the asymptotic behavior of the model. Indeed, despite its simplistic appearance, the model is very intriguing. Spurious numerical diffusion appear and regularize the profile of the expected solution to another one then leads to wrong conjectures on the asymptotic behavior.

• The role of the coagulation term in the asymptotic behavior. Indeed by the growth mechanism, macro-particles may coalesce with each other. In oder to take into account this phenomenon, we introduce in the model the Smoluchowski collision operator.

• We propose an extension of the standard Lifshitz-Slyozov equations by forcing monomers to follow a diffusion equation. So, we analyze the well posedness of the new model which appears as an hyperbolic-parabolic coupled equation.

报告摘要Growth-fragmentation equations appear in different contexts such as in cell division, in proteins polymerization, in neuroscience etc.

The direct observation of the time evolution of the dynamics is often difficult and needs to establish theoretical and numerical tools in order to estimate some parameters of the model from indirect measure of its solution.

In the specific case of cell division process, we will discuss in this course how to estimate the cellular division rate thanks to a deterministic approach by solving an inverse problem from the observation of the asymptotic behavior of the solution when the fragmentation kernel and the cells growth rate are quite general.

 

 

Leon Matar Tine副教授简介:

Leon Mater TINE is currently associate professor at the Camille Jordan Institute (math department of the Lyon 1 University). His research is dedicated to the analysis of asymptotic behaviour of models from physics or biology, on the theoretical and numerical level. He especially focuses on models with coagulation and fragmentation mechanisms.
